Application sent to head of 9 Districts to Demand Status of
Implementation of Section 4 at the District level. Since
implementation of RTI at the district-levels leaves a lot to
be desired, CCS has sent RTI applications to the Divisional
Commissioner/District Collector/District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner
of 3 districts each in Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
CCS’ s initial target districts include Amritsar, Jalandhar
and Ludhiana in Punjab; Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur in Rajasthan
and Ghaziabad, Lucknow and Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

is Duty to Publish?
All government bodies in India are bound by the Right to Information
Act, 2005 to release a large cache of information to the public,
in order to reduce the need for explicit requisitions. This
law came into force exactly a year ago on October 12th 2005.
In this last year public authorities under these governments
have released varying amounts of information that they were
