Centre for Civil Society in association with South Asia Students for Liberty invites you to a Virtual Conference on Policy in Pandemic on 18th and 19th April 2020.

With a stellar line-up of international academics and policy experts, the Virtual Conference seeks to bring together students, professionals and think tank leaders from across the world.

The objective of the Virtual Conference is to discuss, deliberate and ponder on the global responses to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as their economic, political and social ramifications on the world after COVID-19. The Conference will include a Keynote session by Tyler Cowen (Professor of Economics, George Mason University) and four panel-based discussions on topics of health policy, fiscal and monetary policy, the future of Liberty and the South Asian perspective.

Researching Reality is an annual six-week internship program that offers intensive training in policy-relevant research to undergraduate and graduate students of various disciplines. In the course of the internship, the interns frame a research question, analyse the data collected through primary and secondary sources, and author a research paper.

While research-guides steer their projects and train them, various experts, academics and practitioners working in the field of public policy provide their knowledge and insights.

During the ongoing pandemic, a lot of well-meaning people from different quarters are suggesting that the government should take over all private hospitals. While this may sound amazing, we ask you to think of what this will lead too. And to understand what this may lead to, we need only to look at some recent incidents.

Nationalising private hospitals by the State at this moment will not solve any problems, especially when the government doesn't even have enough testing kits, protective equipment and masks to provide to its own hospitals.
